Since 2012, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has been actively committed to supporting futures literacy. Futures literacy is an essential competency that we must acquire as educators to prepare our students to face a constantly evolving world. I drew my inspiration from UNESCO’s report on futures literacy and from the social science fiction literary genre to bring futuristic scenarios in education to life. (I also tapped into a personal interest of mine by exploring Marvel’s alternate realities!)
