In 2008, Charles Sturt University introduced CSU Interact, a learning management system based on the Sakai framework. Pedagogically, the new tool supports a social constructivist approach to e-learning. Students are required to wield a range of digital tools, such as chat rooms and wiki postings, to enhance problem-based and collaborative activities. Two of the university’s education specialists describe how the LMS is being used.
