AI-detection software isn’t the solution to classroom cheating — assessment has to shift

Two years after ChatGPT’s release, educators remain divided on AI in assessment—some ban it, others embrace it, and many struggle with inconsistent policies. AI detection tools help but fail to solve the deeper issue of designing valid assessments.
