This study explored whether non-expert readers could differentiate AI-generated poems from human-authored ones and found they performed below chance levels, often misidentifying AI poems as human-authored. AI-generated poems were rated more favorably for qualities like rhythm and beauty, suggesting flawed heuristics influenced reader judgments.
